I think it’s really awesome to have a government initiative to keep up with technology and societal trends – basically just to evolve along with us. I love that it puts a value on people with contemporary skills, although there are those who would probably create these applications regardless. Either way I think it’s totally amazing and am excited to see what comes out of it.
USPS is so great. I’m always having issues with buying unnecessarily large boxes or re-thinking what I send to whom because I have a terrible sense of size. So this augmented reality box-size-estimating thing would be an excellent tool for me if only I had a printer here.
Even though this tells me I should drive a Rabbit (cute), I really miss my Jetta (Sven). But I think this is a really cool way to integrate social networking into something as universally obnoxious and intrusive as a banner. I went out of my way to actually get to use it (3 steps from my Google Reader!). I have no idea what Red Square Agency is, but they totally have the right idea putting Twitter into an ad space and making it interactive in a social way. A+
This is kind of old news, but it’s absolutely insane to see happening. He’s just thinking something, and it appears on screen (and then is posted to Twitter, naturally).
